Hello and welcome back to another skin care product review!

Today I am reviewing Sum 37 rose cleansing stick.

Having a cleanser in stick form is a whole new concept to me, but I like it. It makes it a fun experience just to use it and I can’t wait to use it.

It would be extra convenient for travelling, carry cleanser in a gym bag, handbag or something of the sort, without having to worry about anything leaking.

It took me some time to work out how to use it. The best way I found is, I go through and swipe some upwards lines on my face, dry skin. I do a few streaks around my cheeks, sides of my nose, forehead and chin. I wet my hands, massage my face and it lathers up really well. I finish it off by going through with my Clarisonic or my Foreo.

I found wetting me face first and then massaging the cleanser on my face left the stick wet. Personally, I didn’t feel it that is was very hygienic. Doing it this method is how the back of the bottle shows you how to use it. It’s probably the best way to use it.  But, as usual I’m a rebel that breaks the rules and do it my way.

Here are some of the highlights about Sum 37 cleanser;

  • it contains fermented damask rose extract
  • has a low pH level for a foaming cleanser
  • has the lovely smell of roses (you can see the rose petals pieces mixed in)
  • a blend of different oils (including coconut, lemon peel, green tea seed and olive)

This is meant to be suitable for all skin types. But just be cautious in case one of the oils are a trigger for acne prone skin. I have oily, acne prone skin and have had no issues, but of course everyone’s skin is different.

You may have noticed now days the anti-aging products contain some form of rose in them, it helps to firm your skin while moisturising at the same time.

You get a fair amount of product in the jar, if you use it twice a day everyday it could give you an easy couple of months worth, possibly more. It’s low maintenance, so you don’t have to worry about something going off in 1 month or a pump clogging up. It’s compact and you can fit it in your daily skincare tray quite easily.

Final Thoughts

I really love this method of packaging, it would be good to see if more companies end up going towards this trend. If I did a lot of travel I would buy one of these just to keep in my travel bag, but I rarely can make it to the shops now days without my back acting up, so I’m not travelling anywhere anytime soon.

I believe when this product first came out a couple of years ago it was next to impossible to buy and was super expensive. Now you can purchase it from iHerb.com for less than $35, which I think is a great price for the length of time you’ll get out of it.

It has a lovely smell, doesn’t dry my skin or cause my acne and it feels refreshed after I have washed it off.

I would recommend trying it if you’re interested in adding a little twist to your daily routine.

Repurchase Sum 37 Rose Cleanser Stick?

At this exact moment I’d say no and the reason for that would be that my skin is leaning more in the direction of preferring gel cleansers.

I have found a few other stick cleansers out there and I would like to test them out vs this one before repurchasing.

I’ve been using this cleanser exclusively for the last couple of months and the stick still looks untouched. You get a lot of product for your buck.

You can purchase Sum 37 cleanser stick from iherb.com for around $33 (Australian) and easily available from other K Beauty websites.
