Ciracle Blackhead Soap | COSRX Galactomyces Alcohol Free Toner |

Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream | Innisfree The Minimum Toner For Sensitive Skin

When I first found out I was selected for the stylestory.com.au tester club I was over the moon! They sent me a tailored test pack specified for my skin, which is oily, acne prone and acne scarred. I thought it was awesome that they sent me items that were customised for my skin type so I can really put the products to the test.

Ciracle Blackhead Soap

Size: 100g

First one up to review, Ciracle  Blackhead Soap. In the past I have tried bar soap type of facial cleansers and really disliked them. I had to approach this one with an open mind, you know I am older (only by a little) and wiser about skincare. I am glad I did, I was expecting something that would leave my skin with that tight, drying, squeaky feeling and be super messy.

The bar will really last a long time since it requires almost nothing to foam up. Given that the bar is black, the foam doesn’t have any colour nor does it leave a film behind on my skin. It has a really nice scent to it that makes me look forward to using it.

The soap is designed to help with blackheads and give you clearer looking skin. Given my expectations I felt like I was short of just having to click my heels together three times and say, Blackheads I rebuke you in the name of clearer skin!

As much as I hate seeing blackheads on my skin I know if left to run wild they can grow to be a problem causing me further skin impurities. By trying to work on those pesky blackheads now may help me with future skin concerns.

BENEFITS

  • Helps to keep sebum in control
  • Clears out blackheads
  • Helps chronic blackheads and whiteheads

How I’ve been using

I use this soap twice a day during both morning and night skincare routine. After I have done my first cleanse, I then use the Blackhead Soap to do my second cleanse. I hold the bar in my hand under running water, let it foam up and then use my hands to apply to my face. So the bar doesn’t actually touch my face. Another thing worth mentioning is the bar dries with the foamy bubbles on the bar.

My Thoughts

I really like this soap, it’s something that will last a long time since it doesn’t take a whole lot to get it lathered up. I will say and I’m not sure how or why but I do notice this cleanser creeps into my hair when I am washing it off. So it is a little more high maintenance when removing than many of the other cleansers I’ve tried. Not a big deal but I think it’s worth mentioning, maybe the solution to this is wearing a headband.

COSRX Galactomyces Alcohol Free Toner

Size: 150ml

Next cab off the rank is a highly rated brand, Cosrx. If you are new to the KBeauty scene this may be a good starting brand, it is affordable and you can find something for pretty much any skin type. This toner is alcohol-free so you are left without skin irritations.

I am ashamed to admit this but I have never tried any Cosrx products, it’s been on my wish list for the longest time. When I first started getting into the KBeauty scene I wasn’t able to locate places that sold Cosrx in Australia but now I see it’s easily available (including stylestory.com.au) and super affordable.

The toner contains fermented yeast, Galactomyces. it tones, calms, nourishes and exfoliates the skin.

BENEFITS

  • pH Level 6.20
  • restores and tones skin
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • Alcohol-free and irritation-free
  • Helps promote skin renewal and rejuvenation
  • Fermented ingredients that brighten and promote cell turnover

How I’ve been using

During my am routine: I apply after I have washed my face, spritz this on my face and swipe a cotton pad to remove the dead skin. Then follow it with the Innisfree Toner, my serum and SPF moisturiser.

During my pm routine: I apply after I have washed my face, spritz this on my face and swipe a cotton pad to remove the dead skin. I then follow it up with my first treatment essence, Innisfree Toner and chuck on a sheet mask.

My Thoughts

I am a fan so far after with using it for a straight week. My pores seem to be less noticeable and my skin looks clearer overall. I don’t notice a scent to it and there is no stinging or any kind of texture on the skin. The spray bottle doesn’t get clogged or stuck. If anything I feel like it’s supercharged! It leaves my skin feeling refreshed.

Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream

Size: 45ml

This gel cream moisturiser promotes healing in damaged, acne-prone skin. Soph’s skin meet Mizon = Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!!

Concentrated with snail extract, it contains botanical and floral extracts with hyaluronic acid to deliver hydration and improves skin’s condition. Snail mucin is an ideal ingredient that helps repair damaged skin perfect for acne-prone skin. I like to think that they had me in mind when creating this!

BENEFITS

  • Lightweight
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • Soothes redness and irritation
  • Actively hydrates, fights wrinkles and reduces acne scars and blemishes

How I’ve been using

After serum I apply on my face and dab at the same time during my pm skincare routine.

My Thoughts

I like this cream, it doesn’t feel like it’s on, it’s not tacky and very easy to spread. In case you may not know I have a huge phobia of snails, I can’t stand seeing them, thinking about them, seeing the word, or a picture of them. Using this cream was really getting out of my comfort zone, but I’m glad I did. It does have a strong odd scent but it goes away rather quickly.

Innisfree The Minimum Toner For Sensitive Skin

Size: 45ml

This toner is super gentle and helps to prep the skin for it to absorb the rest of your skincare. It’s made with minimum ingredients. It is designed for sensitive skin types. My skin isn’t sensitive, so on paper, this wouldn’t be my first choice straight off the bat, but the fact that it’s made to restore skin’s pH balance without stripping my skin, it is definitely worth a try.

Another thing that is worth mentioning is the spray on this bottle is fantastic. Sometimes with spray bottles they tend to get clogged and making it more of a hassle to use the remaining product. I also like the fact that it is compact, making it easy to carry if you want to take it in your gym bag or hand bag.

BENEFITS

  • A toner for sensitive and stressed skin
  • Contains willow bark ingredients that exfoliate and leave skin firm
  • A preservative free toner made from 99% natural ingredients
  • Contains natural moisturising supplements

How I’ve been using

During my am routine: I apply this on my skin after I have used the Cosrx toner and follow it up with the serum and moisturiser

During my pm routine: I apply this on my skin after I have used the Cosrx toner, first treatment essence, then my sheet mask and the rest of my routine.

My Thoughts

This is a really, really light toner. I am on the fence about it and if it helps my skin. I feel like it’s almost like spraying water. I’ll continue using but I don’t think it’d be a product I’d purchase. On the plus side it didn’t make my skin any worse, so maybe it is working but I haven’t really noticed a difference.
